Substantiation

Er zal mogelijk substitutie plaatsvinden van patiënten die op dit moment atazanavir/ ritonavir krijgen. Een farmacologisch voordeel is de inductie van enzymen door cobicistat. Er wordt met de huidige informatie een mogelijke gelijke waarde met atazanavir/ ritonavir verwacht.

Op 31 december 2017 waren er 464 patiënten in zorg waarvan er 183 onder de 18 jaar waren. 11,9% van alle mensen met HIV in zorg gebruikten in 2019 een proteaseremmer bevattend regime. Ongeveer 2% gebruikt geboost atazanavir. Dit is 50 tot 100 mensen in totaal.
In 2019 waren er in totaal 104 patiënten in de leeftijdsgroep van 5-24 jaar die gebruik maakten van een proteaseremmer.  Hiervan waren er 5 patiënten die atazanavir gebruikten.
