Vaak worden geneesmiddelen die initieel zijn goedgekeurd voor deze groep ook ingezet voor patiënten met adenocarcinoom van de slokdarm. Dit zou betekenen dat er in totaal ongeveer 260-290 patiënten per jaar in aanmerking komen voor deze behandeling.
