Substantiation In GINA 2019 wordt in stap 4 en 5 de mogelijkheid genoemd om LAMA toe te voegen. Als er een goede indicatie voor LAMA bestaat, is een vaste triple combinatie wel patiënt vriendelijker. Er ontstaat echter minder flexibiliteit om een onderdeel van de triple combinatie te stoppen. Er bestaat daarom gevaar van overbehandeling, dus de voorschrijver dient goed de start- en stop-criteria voor ogen te houden.

Additional remarks In 2015 waren er naar schatting 613.500 personen met astma. 5-10% van de astmapopulatie is moeilijk instelbaar (30.000-60.000). Momenteel gebruiken 6.500 patiënten losse triple-combinaties. Het zal in de toekomst de markt moeten delen met Enerzair Breezhaler en Trelegy Ellipta. Als er uitgegaan wordt van een gelijke verdeling zal dit betekenen dat er 2.166 patiënten in aanmerking zullen komen voor deze behandeling.
