Het geneesmiddel heeft een breed werkingsspectrum. Het aantal kinderen met een gecompliceerde urineweginfectie waarbij antibiotica met een smaller spectrum niet meer gegeven kunnen worden door resistentie is zeer beperkt. Het geneesmiddel kan veilig en effectief ingezet worden binnen deze patiëntpopulatie.
