Substantiation	Het is nog onduidelijk wat de (meer)waarde is t.o.v. andere (non)medicamenteuze behandelingen. De fabrikant zegt het eerste geneesmiddel tegen autisme te ontwikkelen. De aantallen in de fase drie studies zijn aanzienlijk (een breed spectrum aan toepassingen). Als het echt een toegevoegde waarde heeft dan is in de lijn van de verwachting dat het breed gebruikt zal worden. Vooralsnog is het onduidelijk of het middel lijkt op de tryptophaan (serotonine precursor enig neurotranmitter die via voeding beschikbaar komt) suppletie die gegeven werd bij depressie om de hoeveelheid serotonine in het brein te verhogen.
