Substantiation Farmacokinetisch gezien zijn er voordelen aan dit geneesmiddel. In-vitro is een verhoogde prevalentie van kruisresistentie aangetoond. Indien dit een aantal keer gebeurt kan dat een negatief effect hebben.

Additional remarks Het aanbevolen doseringsschema van DALVANCE bij pediatrische patiënten met CLcr is: 30 ml/min/1,73m2 en hoger is een enkel dosisregime op basis van de leeftijd en het gewicht van de pediatrische patiënt. Dien DALVANCE gedurende 30 minuten toe via intraveneuze infusie.

Additional remarks SPS:'' Data published in 2009 showed that ABSSSI accounted for almost $870,000 hospital admissions in the United States in 2004. Omgerekend naar Nederland zou dat gaan om ongeveer 45.000 personen. Er zijn geen epidemiologische gegevens over het voorkomen van ABSSSI in Nederland. Cellulitis en erysipelas worden vaak gezien in de huisartsenpraktijk; de NVDV richtlijn schat de incidentie op respectievelijk 19 en 3 per 1.000 patiëntbezoeken per jaar. Een studie over Nederlandse gegevens uit 2001 schatte dat bij 28.000 patiënten de diagnose cellulitis of erysipelas van de benen werd gesteld. Daarvan werd circa 10% in het ziekenhuis opgenomen. ABSSSI is een van de meest frequente soorten infecties die in het ziekenhuis worden behandeld, vooral postoperatief wat niet in bovenstaande schatting is meegenomen. Gezien de lage resistentie cijfers in Nederlands voor S aureus, de meest voorkomende verwekker van ABSSSI, is de indicatie voor dit middel beperkt. Het aantal MRSA infecties in Nederland is beperkt. Er wordt verwacht dat er mogelijk maximaal 100 patiënten per jaar in aanmerking zullen komen.

Additional remarks Xydalba, 500mg poeder voor oplossing voor infusie per injectieflacon: €828,40. Voor volwassenen wordt een toediening gegeven van 1500 mg, dit kost dus €2.485,20. Voor kinderen zal dit mogelijk lager uitvallen.
