Therapeutic value

Current treatment options Homozygote FH is een ernstige ziekte die nog moeilijk te behandelen is. De HoFH is een heterogeen ziektebeeld. De meeste patiënten hebben een aanvullende behandeling nodig naast statine en ezetimibe. Dit kan afhankelijk van type HoFH bestaan uit PCSK9 remming en/of lomitapide. Een klein deel van de HoFH patiënten wordt behandeld met aferese omdat dit een invasieve behandeling is.

Substantiation ''Evinacumab lowered LDL-c in HoFH patients by an average of 47% (versus a 2% increase in patients on placebo). Furthermore, evinacumab produced a 132mg/dL absolute change in LDL-c with 47% of patients on drug achieving LDL-c levels below the recommended level of 100mg/dL.''
