Current treatment options	Tacrolimus met mycofenolaatmofetil en prednison (off-label. Tacrolimus + azathioprine + prednison of tacrolimus + everolimus + prednison.

Substantiation	Op dit moment is de combinatie van tacrolimus met mycofenolaatmofetil (en prednison) al de standaardbehandeling (waarbij MMF off-label wordt gegeven). Een alternatief is de combinatie tacrolimus + azathioprine + prednison, of tacrolimus + everolimus + prednison. Voor de eerste combinatie is dat inferieur aan de combinatie met MMF (aangezien er meer rejecties zijn), voor de combi met everolimus is dat therapeutisch gelijkwaardig. Bij niertransplantaties is de tacrolimus + MMF + prednison het meest gangbaar en dat zal vermoedelijk nog vele jaren zo blijven.
