Additional remarks	PF-ILD is geen specifieke diagnose, maar duidt op een groep ILD patiënten die gekenmerkt wordt door progressieve littekenvorming van het longparenchym; het kan gaan om patiënten met niet-klassificeerbare vormen van idiopatische longfibrose, om patiënten met onderliggende auto-immuunziekten (of kenmerken hiervan) en geassocieerde longfibrose, of om patiënten met een specifieke onderliggende ILD die gepaard gaat met secundaire longfibrosering (b.v. chronische extrinsieke allergische alveolitis); ook longfibrose veroorzaakt zijn door gebruik van bepaalde geneesmiddelen (b.v. nitrofurantoine) of inademen van schadelijke stoffen (b.v. silica of asbest) kunnen tot PF-ILD worden gerekend. De omvang van deze groep ILD patiënten is niet goed bekend, maar waarschijnlijk gaat het om 1.000-2.000 personen in Nederland.
