Substantiation De meerwaarde van dit middel is de orale toediening via tablet. Een wekelijkse injectie kan soms nadelen hebben voor de patiënt en hulpverlener. Daarnaast heeft de orale versie als bijeffect dat het een grotere gewichtsreductie geeft bij de patiënt.

Additional remarks Er wordt verwacht dat met name patiënten die de orale toedieningsvorm boven injectie verkiezen en patiënten met een verhoogd BMI (BMI>30) gebruik zullen maken van deze behandeling. In 2016 werden aan 11.550 patiënten GLP-1 agonisten voorgeschreven. GLP-1 analogen gaan de komende jaren waarschijnlijk meer gebruikt worden dan nu. Als we uitgaan van 10% van de markt zal het patiëntvolume waarschijnlijk 50 tot maximaal 1.000 patiënten per jaar bedragen.
