Van deze gemetastaseerde borstkanker patiënten zijn 216 patiënten HER2-positief.(1) Van deze vroege borstkanker patiënten bevindt respectievelijk 49% (n=8.049), 40% (n=6.571) en 10% (n=1.692) in ziektestadium I, II en III bij diagnose. Van de vroege borstkanker patiënten in stadium I, II en III is respectievelijk 654, 994 en 332 HER2-positief. Dit komt in totaal neer op 1.980 HER2-positieve vroege borstkanker patiënten. (2) Volgens klinische experts treedt bij 10 tot 15% van de patiënten met vroege HER2-positieve borstkanker metastasering op (n=198-297). (3) Totaal zijn er dus per jaar 414 tot 513 gemetastaseerde HER2-positieve patiënten.
