Substantiation Er is in de resultaten van de klinische studie nog geen verschil in algehele overleving te zien. Vooralsnog wordt er geen meerwaarde voor asciminib gezien in de eerste lijn. Er zijn genoeg beschikbare tweedelijns generatie TKI’s met een vergelijkbare effectiviteit. In de toekomst zou kunnen blijken dat het alsnog ingezet wordt op basis van een aantal voordelige eigenschappen. Ook patiënten met een T315i-mutatie en intolerantie voor ponatinib is een niche waar het wellicht wel ingezet zal kunnen worden.
