De patiënten zijn gedoseerd met maximaal 200mg per dag. Avapritinib werd continu toegediend in cycli van 28 dagen tot progressie, intolerantie of ontwenning. Voor alle evalueerbare patiënten was de mediane duur van de respons 38,3 maanden (95% betrouwbaarheidsinterval). Door de grote variatie aan symptomen en de relatieve onbekendheid met de ziekte wordt de diagnose vaak laat gesteld. De incidentie in Denemarken wordt geschat op 0,06 per 100.000 inwoners. Volgens het Nederlandse expertisecentrum voor Mastocytose is de incidentie ongeveer 15 patiënten per jaar, plus een prevalent cohort van 20 patiënten (3).
