Substantiation Dit is een krachtig anti-influenza middel, beter dan de huidige middelen. Resistentie ontstaat echter snel. Daarom lijkt combinatiebehandeling met een van de bestaande middelen een logische keuze en is waarschijnlijk voorbehouden aan ernstig zieke patiënten die opgenomen worden met influenza (zoals ernstig immuun gecompromitteerde patiënten, iedere IC patiënt met influenza). De indicatie ongecompliceerde influenza, is niet iets dat in Nederland snel geïmplementeerd zal worden. Profylactische toepassingen in verpleeghuizen zijn ook denkbaar, maar ook daar wordt terughoudendheid verwacht en zal dit slechts ingezet worden wanneer er sprake is van een ongecontroleerde uitbraak.
