Als je uitgaat van een CMV seroprevalentie van 60%, dan zou je dus op zo’n 300 patiënten per jaar uitkomen als men massaal overgaat op het CMV DNA vaccin als profylaxe, ongeacht inschatting van CMV risico. De werkgroep schat in dat alleen de hoog-risico patiënten het vaccin gaan krijgen, dit betreft ongeveer de helft van de eerder genoemde patiëntenpopulatie (m.a.w. 150 patiënten). Er zijn hoge verwachtingen van letermovir en er is nog weinig gepubliceerd over het CMV DNA vaccin. Om die reden wordt geen 50-50 verdeling van de markt verwacht. Inschatting van de werkgroep is dat van de 150 patiënten realistisch gezien 10% in aanmerking zal komen (m.a.w. 15 patiënten).
