Het voordeel is wel de anti-pseudomonas werking dat onder andere voor diabetische voeten een uitkomst kan bieden als oraal middel. Verder minder risico op QT interval verlenging. Wel meer kans op tendinitis. Er wordt veel concurrentie verwacht en een laag gebruik. Omgerekend naar Nederland zou dat gaan om ongeveer 45.000 personen. Er zijn geen epidemiologische gegevens over het voorkomen van ABSSSI in Nederland. Cellulitis en erysipelas worden vaak gezien in de huisartsenpraktijk; de NVDV richtlijn schat de incidentie op respectievelijk 19 en 3 per 1.000 patiëntbezoeken per jaar. Een studie over Nederlandse gegevens uit 2001 schatte dat bij 28.000 patiënten de diagnose cellulitis of erysipelas van de benen werd gesteld. Daarvan werd circa 10% in het ziekenhuis opgenomen. ABSSSI is een van de meest frequente soorten infecties die in het ziekenhuis worden behandeld, vooral postoperatief wat niet in bovenstaande schatting is meegenomen. Gezien de lage resistentie cijfers in Nederlands voor S aureus, de meest voorkomende verwekker van ABSSI, is de indicatie voor dit middel beperkt.
