Substantiation Er lijkt behoefte aan sneller werkende kortwerkende insuline bij de behandeling van diabetes die maaltijd insuline nodig heeft en de verwachtingen waren met het beschikbaar komen van de kortwerkende variant van aspart (Fast-acting insulin aspart - FiAsp) hoog gespannen, maar in de praktijk viel het toch tegen. Wellicht is URLi nog iets sneller qua profiel en ontstaan er in de praktijk wel voordelen. De eerste trials waarvan de resultaten in een press release bekend zijn gemaakt (PRONTO) laten non-inferiority zien, maar geen superiority. Wel betere postprandiale coverage, maar dat had FiAsp ook. Kortom, het is nog onduidelijk wat de therapeutische waarde van dit middel zal zijn, er is op dit moment nog geen meerwaarde aangetoond.
