Momenteel zijn er geen recente gegevens over het exacte aantal patiënten dat chronische graft-versus-hostziekte (cGvHD) ontwikkelt na deze transplantaties. Epidemiologische gegevens uit landen die vergelijkbaar zijn met Nederland laten echter zien dat gemiddeld 1,39% van de patiënten cGvHD ontwikkelt. In Nederland geven de meest recente gegevens uit 2021 aan dat van de 122 patiënten er 17 cGvHD ontwikkelden (2), wat 13,93% van de patiënten vertegenwoordigt. Alle patiënten met cGvHD krijgen behandeling. Op basis van de beschikbare gegevens wordt geschat dat tussen de 9 en 85 patiënten cGvHD ontwikkelen en eerstelijnsbehandeling krijgen. Er wordt verwacht dat inzet van MaaT013 in Nederland niet nodig zal zijn doordat er al een goed lopend landelijk feces transplantatie programma is.
