Substantiation Bij volwassenen is er in de fase 2 studie geen toegevoegde waarde gezien voor de behandeling van PBC. Er werd geen significant verschil gezien tussen behandeling met maralixibat en placebo. (1). Bij kinderen lijkt er een heterogeen beeld te zijn van de effectiviteit. Echter er is geen significant verschil in effectiviteit op jeuk, lever chemie en serum galzuren. Daarbij moet opgemerkt worden dat de populatie klein was. (2) Maralixibat wordt wel goed verdragen.
