Op dit moment is de prijs van het medicijn namelijk te hoog. Alleen als de prijs van het medicijn met minstens 39% daalt, kan het vergoed worden. Dit betrof 1.724 stadium 1, 921 stadium 2, 2.452 stadium 3 (waarvan zoʼn 55% stadium 3a en zoʼn 45% stadium 3b), 5.062 stadium 4 en 31 onbekend. Uitgaande van stadium 3b/4 komt dat neer op zoʼn 6.165 patiënten (1). Hier komen nog patiënten bij uit eerdere stadia die verslechteren naar stadium 3b/4. Binnen een jaar is de inschatting dat dit 20% van stadium 1 en 2 bedraagt (529 patiënten) en 50% van stadium 3a (674 patiënten). In totaal bedraagt deze groep dus zoʼn 7.369 patiënten (2). Het aantal NSCLC patiënten met EGFR betreft zoʼn 5 tot 10% van deze patiënten (3). De schatting is echter dat er ongeveer 50 tot 100 patiënten in aanmerking komen voor deze behandeling (4).
