Van deze gemetastaseerde borstkanker patiënten zijn 225 patiënten HER2-positief. Van deze vroege borstkanker patiënten bevindt respectievelijk 46% (n=6.160), 42% (n=5.666) en 12% (n=1.593) in ziektestadium 1, 2 en 3 bij diagnose. Van de vroege borstkanker patiënten in stadium 1, 2 en 3 is respectievelijk 498, 799 en 303 HER2-positief. Dit komt in totaal neer op 1.600 HER2-positieve vroege borstkanker patiënten (1). Volgens klinische experts treedt bij 10 tot 15% van de patiënten met vroege HER2-positieve borstkanker metastasering op (n=160 tot 240) (2). In totaal zijn er dus per jaar 385 tot 465 gemetastaseerde HER2-positieve patiënten. Van de patiënten die in aanmerking komen voor een anti-HER2 therapie, wordt aangenomen dat 90% een eerstelijns HER2-gerichte behandeling ontvangt (n=347 tot 419).
