Substantiation Mirabegron wordt al vrij veel voorgeschreven bij volwassenen met urge incontinentie klachten/frequente mictie. Ongeveer 2 jaar geleden werd er meer bekend over anticholinergica voor deze indicatie. Het bleek dat er bij chronisch gebruik risico ontstaat op cognitieve achteruitgang. Er wordt daarom bij langdurige klachten/chronisch gebruik steeds vaker Mirabegron voorgeschreven. Dit is een grote groep patiënten, met name ouderen. De effectiviteit van mirabegron bij kinderen met neurogene en niet-neurogene blaasfunctiestoornissen is inmiddels in de internationale literatuur niet meer omstreden. Vibegron is in een studie vergeleken met mirabegron. Op basis van deze studie is er mogelijk enige meerwaarde te zien ten opzichte van mirabegron op bijvoorbeeld frequentie en incontinentie score.
