Additional remarks Van de 17 miljoen inwoners in Nederland heeft 3,4% COPD (chronische bronchitis en/of emfyseem, 592.900 patiënten in 2016, 18% hiervan heeft ernstige COPD (ongeveer 106.700 patiënten) en 54% hiervan heeft matig tot ernstige COPD (ongeveer 320.000 patiënten) (LAN standaard COPD). Ruim de helft van alle COPD patiënten heeft eigenlijk nauwelijks of geen exacerbaties, ongeveer 44 % heeft er tenminste 1 per jaar, niet veel meer dan 10% 2 of meer.
