Substantiation Dit middel geeft ten opzichte van evolocumab en alirocumab duidelijk minder LDLC verlaging ( in CLEAR Tranquility study 23.5%) vs pcsk9 remmers (50-60%). De verwachting is wel dat kosten lager zullen zijn dan PCSK9 remmers is (small molecule in tablet vs monoklonaal antilichaam sc). Zowel bempedoic acid als PCSK9 remmers kunnen gebruikt worden als addon bij statines of patiënten met statine intolerantie. Gezien kosten zou het mogelijk zijn om bij hoog risico patiënten, die ondanks max tolereerbare statines (of intolerantie) icm ezetimibe die streefwaarden niet halen en waarvan verwachting is dat zij dit wel halen met 25% extra daling LDLC, eerst bempedoic acid te gebruiken en dan pas PCSK9 remmers.
