De timololdruppel werkt evengoed. Er is geen onderzoek gedaan naar de bimatoprostdruppel ten opzichte van het implantaat. Op het gebied van veiligheid laat het implantaat wel meer bijwerkingen zien. Vooral de eerste 2 dagen na zetten van het implantaat. Argument voor het implantaat zou zijn dat het direct in het target weefsel medicatie afgeeft en dat de druppel hier nog moet komen. (Echter de non-inferioriteit weerlegt dit eigenlijk). Het geneesmiddel is handig voor patiënten met problemen in therapietrouw. Het geneesmiddel zou een uitkomst kunnen zijn voor patiënten met lage therapietrouw of onmogelijkheid om zelf te druppelen.
