Nu gebruikt nog een aanzienlijk deel van deze patiënten vitamine K antagonisten waar ciraparantag niet bij werkt. Echter gezien steeds meer mensen overgaan op directe orale anticoagulantia is de verwachting dat steeds meer patiënten in aanmerking komen zullen voor ciraparantag. Er zijn daarnaast ook andere middelen zoals praxbind en andexanet. Dus het echte volume is een grove schatting.
