Substantiation Van roflumilast, een selectieve PDE4-remmer, is bij COPD geen meerwaarde aangetoond ten opzichte van gangbare behandelingen in de eerstelijnszorg. Er is geen onderzoek beschikbaar waarin PDE4-remmers vergeleken werden met gangbare middelen. In de fase 2 studie met ensifentrine werd een statistisch significant dosis afhankelijke resultaat gevonden op longfunctie en een veilig bijwerkingsprofiel.
