Substantiation Er is veel onderzoek gedaan naar (es)ketamine en dit heeft (ook bij oudere patiënten) in vele gevallen een goed en opvallend snel effect. Ook qua bijwerkingen (o.a. hallicinaties) lijkt het gunstig. Als met deze verbeterde/vereenvoudigde toedieningsweg dezelfde of betere resultaten kunnen worden bereikt kan het middel veel meerwaarde hebben bij de behandeling van (therapieresistente) depressie en acute suicidaliteit.
