Therapeutic value Current treatment options Homozygote FH is een ernstige ziekte die nog moeilijk te behandelen is. De Homozygote FH is een heterogeen ziektebeeld. De meeste patiënten hebben een aanvullende behandeling nodig naast statine en ezetimibe. Dit kan afhankelijk van type Homozygote FH bestaan uit PCSK9 remming en/of lomitapide. Een klein deel van de Homozygote FH patiënten wordt behandeld met aferese omdat dit een invasieve behandeling is. Een goede aanvulling op het huidige behandelassortiment. Evinacumab heeft een mogelijke meerwaarde ten opzichte van PCSK9 remmers. Het werkt enkel bij patiënten die LDL receptoren hebben. Als een patiënt deze niet meer heeft is de enige optie nierdialyse of het duurdere lomitapide.
