Substantiation Fenebrutinib lijkt non-inferieur aan ocrelizumab met betrekking tot het reduceren van ziekte progressie PPMS. Data over de ziekte activiteit (nieuwe laesies MRI) moet echter nog volgen.

Additional remarks In 2023 waren er 38.600 mensen bekend bij de huisarts met multiple sclerose (1). Bij 10 tot 15% van de mensen gaat het om de niet-relapsing vorm (2). Door de concurrentie aan middelen zal het verwachte marktaandeel op maximaal een paar honderd patiënten komen te liggen. Indien het veiligheidsprofiel positief is zal er mogelijk substitutie van ocrelizumab kunnen plaatsvinden. Ocrelizumab werd in 2024 aan ongeveer 600 patiënten gegeven voor deze indicatie (3). Er wordt verwacht dat er bij positieve resultaten mogelijk 200-500 patiënten in aanmerking zullen komen (4).
