Substantiation Fase 3 studies ICONIC-ADVANCE 1 en 2 lieten een grotere effectiviteit zien dan deucravacitinib. Fase 3 studie ICONIC-LEAD: icotrokinra versus ustekinumab liet zien dat 64,7% clear/almost clear skin (IGA scores 0/1) bereikte na 16 weken met icotrokinra. Tevens bereikte 49,6% van de patiënten (PASI) 90 in week 16. Het betreft een orale IL-23 remmer. Dit kan een voordeel zijn en zal concurreren met andere orale middelen. Het betreft een dagelijkse inname versus eenmaal per acht weken subcutane injectie bij andere middelen.
