Totaal aantal vrouwen in Nederland in 2016: 8.561.985. Circa 50% is ouder dan 50 = 4miljoen. Maximaal 45% daarvan urine incontinentie = 1,8 miljoen. Maximaal 39% daarvan stress incontinentie = 702.000 vrouwen. Niet al deze vrouwen zullen in aanmerking komen voor deze nieuwe behandeling, onbekend is nog om hoeveel vrouwen het zal gaan. Bij grove schatting dat 1 op de 10 vrouwen doorgestuurd wordt, betreft het 70.000 vrouwen maximaal. Waarschijnlijk zal deze ingreep echter voor de ernstige gevallen zijn en dus een relatief beperkte groep patiënten.
