Prevalentie van ernstige DED is 2% - 5% (340.000 - 850.000 patiënten). De fabrikant verwacht dat Lifitegrast gebruikt gaat worden door 3% van het huidig aantal gebruikers van kunsttranen (S01XA20: Kunsttranen en andere indifferente preparaten).
