ABP-671 reduces uric acid reabsorption, increasing its excretion in urine to reduce serum uric acid (sUA) levels. Substantiation In de praktijk zijn er veel patiënten die niet uitkomen op de huidige middelen. Er is daardoor wel vraag naar een andere behandeloptie. Op dit moment zijn er 3 opties: Allopurinol, febuxostat en benzbromaron. Indien patiënten een verminderde nierfunctie hebben is het niet altijd mogelijk de streefwaarde van het uraat te bereiken en als er bijwerkingen optreden bij deze middelen is er geen alternatief. Patiënten zullen aanvankelijk starten met bovengenoemde drie middelen waar veel ervaring mee is. Als lingolinurad echter weinig bijwerkingen blijkt te hebben en veel effectiever is krijgt het wellicht eerder in de behandeling een plaats.
