Substantiation De meerwaarde van CAR-T-cell therapie ten opzichte van huidige opties lijkt groot. Ondanks dat er nog geen langdurige follow-up is zijn er patiënten (gebleken uit studies van de concurrenten) die al zeer lang in remissie zijn terwijl ze anders een prognose hadden gehad van enkele maanden. Door de agressiviteit van het DLBCL halen veel patiënten echter de infusie van de CAR-T-cells niet (30-40%). Er blijven dus 125 patiënten over die kandidaat zijn voor CAR-T daarbij komen nog 60 patiënten die niet genezen na een ASCT. Van de 250 patiënten die niet in aanmerking komen voor een ASCT krijgt ongeveer 80% een tweedelijnstherapie Uiteindelijk zal er uit de groep die niet in aanmerking komt voor ASCT ongeveer 25% (60 patiënten) in aanmerking komen voor een behandeling met CAR-T. In totaal komt dit dus neer op 125+60+60 = 245 per jaar.
