Declaratiegegevens laten zien dat eculicumab bij PNH in 2017 gedeclareerd is voor 78 patiënten. Ravulizumab zal het gebruik van eculizumab voor de chronische behandeling waarschijnlijk gaan vervangen. De verwachting is dat de groei in het aantal patienten min of meer overeen zal komen met de gestage groei die uit de declaratiegegevens voor eculizumab (verwachting voor de komende drie jaar: met een jaarlijkse stijging van 7 patiënten per jaar). Dit is gebaseerd op de 78 flacons en de huidige lijstprijs. Aangezien ravulizumab zal moeten concurreren met eculizumab zal de prijs in dezelfde range vallen. Er komen echter biosimilars voor eculizumab, dus dat speelt waarschijnlijk belangrijke rol bij introductie ravulizumab.
