Hiervan betreft het in circa 22% een hoog-risico niet-invasief groeiende tumor (CIS, T1), wat overeenkomt met 1.496 patiënten. Tevens wordt momenteel maximaal 75% behandeld middels een lokale operatie (TUR) + blaasspoeling. Dit kan BCG of mitomycine zijn, de overige patiënten krijgen enkel een TUR.
