Substantiation Naar verwachting zal ticagrelor met name gebruikt worden bij tijdelijke stents die geplaatst worden tijdens een trombectomie voor acute CVA's. Daarnaast zal ticagrelor ook een uitkomst zijn wanneer er sprake is van clopidogrel resistentie. Ofschoon het lastig te bepalen is of een recidief inderdaad door een clopidogrel resistentie wordt veroorzaakt, zal bij volledige non-responders clopidogrel onthouden worden en ticagrelor voorgeschreven worden.
