Substantiation Langwerkende insuline fase 3 studie loopt. Er zijn nog geen resultaten bekend. Er wordt verwacht dat de uitkomst zal zijn dat once-weekly insulin, evengoed of zelfs beter is als daily insulin. De meeste artsen lijken 1 keer per week injectie niet perse een voordeel te vinden, zeker niet waar het aanpassen van de dosering betreft, anderzijds valt 1 keer per week wel te combineren met bijvoorbeeld 1 keer per week GLP-1ra. Mogelijk is de toediening vooral een voordeel voor een subgroep van patiënten in de thuiszorg of psychiatrie.

Additional remarks In 2016 waren er 446.462 gebruikers van insuline (totaal van 12 verschillende producten) (1). De prijs van dit product zal mogelijk niet identiek zijn aan andere insulines. In dat geval zullen enkel niche indicaties overblijven - thuiszorg, non-compliance en mensen met een beperking.
